Lithuanian Symphonic Wind Orchestra

Martynas Staškus (guest conductor)

Tadas Girininkas (bass)

Lithuanian Symphonic Wind Orchestra commences its 2023 season with distinguished guests – a well-known soloist Tadas Girininkas (bass), and conductor Martynas Staškus, valued for his subtle interpretations and solid experience with a number of orchestras in Lithuania and abroad. The latest programme Revered Arias and Overtures, draws attention to the beauty of voice and wind orchestra colours. In the late XIXth century, especially in R. Wagner’s symphonic works, the expressive sound of the wind instruments accompanied the most extraordinary plots of his operas. Around that time, the mechanisms of the wind instruments evolved extensively, and, as a result, more composers began to write for such setups. Do not miss your chance to hear this programme in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania (Renaissance Hall) on February 19 (Sunday) at 7 PM.
