Blue Eyes of My Beloved

Saturday, 29 December at 19:00

Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society (Aušros vartų str. 5, Vilnius)

As every year, the Lithuanian Symphony Wind Orchestra continues the tradition of festive concerts and invites its loyal listeners to a special celebration at the end of the year – a cross-genre concert, in which popular and less frequently heard opuses from classical, jazz, world, pop, orchestral and chamber music will be interwoven into a seamless fabric, linked by a common theme, associatively derived from Gustav Mahler’s song Blue Eyes of My Beloved. This concert is a musical pastiche, inviting the coexistence of different styles and tastes: elegance and extravagance, simplicity and conceptualism, lyricism and energy. Audience is up to a true musical feast, reflecting on the palette of feelings at the end of the year – nostalgia, transparent sadness, hope, joy.
