On the night of June 17th, 2022 during the late programme of Culture Night in the courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, the Lithuanian State Wind Instrument Orchestra Trimitas presented a unique project – the Cinematoria Cali-Gari created by composer Algirdas Martinaitis and electronic music creator Leon Somov. According to Prof. Antanas Kučinskas, manager of Trimitas, this is an audiovisual experiment that combines orchestral music, cinema, academic, popular, acoustic and electronic music.
The State Wind Instrument Orchestra Trimitas continues a series of sacred music concerts in the Church of Sts. John in the spirit of Easter anticipation with the sounds of noble music. The suffering of the Crucifixion is replaced by hope, while the awakening nature and the lengthening days symbolically foreshadow the joy of biblical rebirth which was embodied by the orchestra’s programme Prelude to the Resurrection. The programme included works by Olivier Messiaen, Camille Saint-Saëns, Julie Giroux, Jean Sibelius and other composers. The orchestra’s timbral palette was complemented by the majestic organ of the Church of Sts. John which was played by Karolina Juodelytė, an artist of the younger generation and a laureate of international competitions.
